Arkansas has a number of well-known spooklights, but of them all, the Gurdon Light is probably the most famous.
The Gurdon Light is a glowing light, sometimes flickering, seen on most nights of the year. It is seen along an abandoned railroad line just outside of town. There is no doubt that the light exists - it's been seen many, many times. The real question is, what is it?
The most popular theory is that it's swamp gas that has ignited and is seen burning. The area where the light is frequentlly seen is near some abandoned rail bridges, so there is water in the area, and it could be swamp gas. The problem is - what is causing it to ignite, and why does it always seem to travel down the abandoned rail line, instead of off on another course?
We will be investigating the Gurdon Light extensively in 2022 to see if we can provide some answers!
