Are you interested in the paranormal?

Join Us!

We are a small, but dedicated group of volunteers, and we are looking to grow our team! Are you interested in the paranormal? No experience is necessary, but if you want to be an investigator, you’ll need to be courageous enough to face the unknown!

UPROAR was founded by Dan Koch and his daughter Kathryn in 2022. To learn more about us, click here

We are always welcoming paranormal investigators, but we also need volunteers to fill other roles. If you’re not comfortable running around chasing ghosts, we could certainly use those with skills in the following areas:

  • Video/film crew (we record all of our investigations)
  • Voice-over narrators (for our produced video)
  • Evidence review personnel (reviewing hours of surveillance video and audio recordings is time-intensive but quite rewarding when you find something)
  • Historical researchers and/or genealogists. Knowing who the spirits may have been when they were living aids our investigations tremendously, as well as knowing the circumstances surrounding any deaths or trauma on a property.
  • Security – (in situations where we need to keep out curious onlookers)
  • First contact team, which contacts people, sets up investigations, handles some PR
  • Scientists that are willing to explore theories to explain and/or debunk any evidence or claims
Keep in mind that we don’t limit ourselves to investigating hauntings, we investigate cryptids, spook lights, UFO’s, crop circles (we don’t get too much of those in Arkansas), and cattle mutilations.

Participants may choose to join in or opt-out of any particular investigation. It's entirely your choice how you want to participate. We sincerely appreciate any time and effort you bring to our team!

...there's no forms or applications, there's no red tape administrations...

Garth Brooks, Lyrics from American Honky Tonk Bar Association

This quote from singer Garth Brooks sums up our organization fairly well - we are a volunteer group, there's no membership fees or anything like that. We just want to go out and investigate the paranormal! To learn more about how we approach paranormal investigations, click here.

We are located in the metro Little Rock area, but we investigate the paranormal all across Arkansas - and occastionally in adjacent states. While we are happy to welcome anyone into our organization, ideally you should reside within the state of Arkansas for the sake of convenience. And if you reside in a different part of the state, it's perfectly fine if you opt to participate solely in investigations affecting your area.

Important Information

Before we go any further, there are some important matters we have to bring to your attention. Investigating the paranormal involves the unknown. There are a number of dangers you may face, and we have to point these out for your safety and ours.

The fact is, nobody knows exactly what we are dealing with. When it comes to hauntings, we think we are interacting with the spirits of people that have passed, but some of these spirits are not friendly. In addition, there are other classes of spirits that are non-human; the truth is, nobody completely understands what these are. Elementals are non-human spirits that have never lived or died, and can be malevolant. And did we mention demonic entities? We generally try to avoid these types of encounters, but sometimes these entities mask themselves as human spirits and can deceive even the most seasoned investigators.

There have been cases where spirts have attached themselves to an individual and followed them home (this isn't common, and there are ways to protect yourself from this). In addition, spirits with bad intentions have been known to scratch, push, throw objects, and even make investigators physically ill.

That just covers hauntings. If we go into the field investigating cryptids, such as the Fouke Monster, there are a number of natural hazards. Hot and humid weather, mosquitoes, snakes, spiders, alligators (in some parts of the state), and of course who knows what would happen if you came face-to-face with a bigfoot?

Not to mention, investigating haunted places brings us to a lot of old buildings, which sometimes contain dust, mold, lead paint, asbestos, loose floorboards, among other things.

The bottom line is, investigating the paranormal comes with certain inherent dangers that you need to be aware of. If you understand these risks, and accept personal liability for them - then we'd love for you to join us. If not, there are other roles in our organization that carry considerably less risk.
